FAQs

Are the people at Bella Torah Jewish?

We are Gentiles who love the people, the land, and the God of Israel.

What makes Bella Torah different than the other Messianic Fellowships in Charlotte?

We have more of an emphasis on liturgical prayer, using a synagogue model rather than a church model for our services.

Do people at the Bella Torah Fellowship believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah?

Absolutely.

Does Bella Torah recommend that we keep the Oral Law?

Each family is free to choose their own “halachah,” but as a congregation we do see value in the oral laws.

What is liturgical prayer?

The “best hits of the Bible.” Scripture passages, ancient poems, and historical prayers, all designed to glorify God.

Do I need to RSVP to visit Bella Torah?

It’s not necessary, but if you’d like to let us know you’ll be visiting, you can email rsvp@bellatorah.com.

How often does Bella Torah meet?

We meet twice a month, on the second and fourth Shabbat. We typically take the month of July off, as well as the fourth Shabbat in November.

Where does Bella Torah meet?

We meet at the Squicciarini Residence: 13733 Tynecastle Lane, Matthews, North Carolina.

What do I need to bring if I plan to visit?

If you’re new to our services, just bring a Bible and come experience a Shabbat service! If you’re familiar with liturgical prayer, please bring your siddur, chumash, plus a kippah and tallit (for men). If you plan to stay for oneg after our service, please bring a vegetarian dish to share.

What kind of Siddur does Bella Torah use?

We use the Artscroll Ashkenazi siddur. If this is not the type you have, you’re welcome to borrow one for use during the service.

What are the options for kids at the service?

We love having our kids with us and hearing their voices raised in praise to God during the songs and prayers of our service. We know how important it is for children to hear the public reading of Scripture, so most of our little ones stay for the whole service. However, there is a small room with space for babies and toddlers to play quietly.

Does Bella Torah accept donations?

Yes, although we are not a 501(c)(3) organization. We prefer paper products, wine or other tangibles that can be used to minister to the body of Messiah at Bella Torah and other fellowships.

Is Bella Torah affiliated with any other Messianic organizations?

We have a “sister fellowship” in Ontario, Canada, Beit Tzur Yeshua.

Who should I contact if I have more questions about Bella Torah?
